A couple weeks ago, we were given the opportunity to partner with our favorite new food app, Wine ‘n Dine on a special dinner in Downtown Los Angeles. If you aren’t familiar with Wine ‘n Dine, do yourself a favor and download it here! The app, whose celebrity fans and users include the Kardashians, the Hadids, Carmelo Anthony, and Joe Jonas to name a few, has taken the idea of “food porn” to the next level by creating a social resource and platform that allows users to discover the best restaurants and dishes all over the world.

Instagram took the world by storm and made everyone a photographer. With Wine ‘n Dine, everyone is now a food critic and culinary superstar. With the growing obsession we have all developed around what, how, and where people eat, Wine ‘n Dine satiates foodie voyeurism and allows us to truly share our food with friends.

Because Wine ‘n Dine is all about photographing beautiful and delicious food from all over the world, we only thought it appropriate to host a dinner at our favorite downtown eatery, Alma. Where chef Ari Taymor designs exquisite and aesthetically compelling dishes that are inspired by the landscape and terroir of Southern California.

Recently, the restaurant fought a challenging financial battle which threatened to close their doors. They hosted a crowdsourced fundraiser and were able to raise enough money to stay open. To celebrate, The Food Life and Wine ‘n Dine invited some of their friends including Bella Hadid, Caroline Vreeland, Erin Wasson, Jesse Jo Stark, Kilo Kish and more to Alma to enjoy some of the restaurant’s inimitable food and wine.

Ari surprised guests with an exclusive dish designed specially for the event – a smoked bass, with chamomile, white peach and avocado. The night was an incredible collaboration and we were thrilled to be a part of it!
